Where to extract the firmware:
- qcom-msm8916-XXX-uz801-firmware comes from modem partition
- qcom-msm8916-wcnss-uz801-nv comes from persist partition
- Its easy to extract from modem partition via mcopy, but its not that easy to automate the extraction from persist as it implies mounting an ext4 partition... so the extracted firmware is also provided.

TODO:
- Remove dependecy with any external repo (non other than immportal ones) i.e: openstick and use local packages
- Use usbgadget and usbgadget-ncm (from open/immortal wrt repos) and a newly created usbgadget-rndis instead of gc and adb
- try to use msm-firmware-loader...
## WRT for uz801
These are my attempts at building the os... my end goal is to build a working modern openwrt, but first I will start from immortalwrt from lkiuyu and the from official immortalwrt.
## lkiuyu/immortalwrt
### lkiuyu/immortalwrt
- Using msm-loader:
- Working if manually enabled, as it seems that asks for wifi driver before persist is mounted.
```shell
echo start > /sys/class/remoteproc/remoteproc0/state
echo start > /sys/class/remoteproc/remoteproc1/state
```
echo start > /sys/class/remoteproc/remoteproc0/state
echo start > /sys/class/remoteproc/remoteproc1/state
- https://gitlab.postmarketos.org/postmarketOS/msm-firmware-loader/
- Investigate if this can be replicated in wrt:
```
- Revert back to bundling the drivers...
#!/sbin/openrc-run
name="MSM Firmware Loader"
description="Load firmware that is located on dedicated partitions of qcom devices"
depend() { # <-----------------
need sysfs devfs
before udev
}
start() {
ebegin "Starting msm-firmware-loader"
# This script must be executed before udev, block other services until it's done.
/usr/sbin/msm-firmware-loader.sh
eend $?
}
```
- Revert back to bundling the firmwares...
#### TODO:
- Use oficial `usbgadget-ncm` script or build custom `usbgadget-rndis`.
- 'ucify' the uz801-tweaks... see usb0 setup!
